Hello, lovelies. Been a while. Not really up to much at the moment, but I've accepted a university for concurrent education, which is EXCITING. I've just been reading lots and doing school stuff. Just finished reading "Divergent" by Veronica Roth and it was really really great--fast paced and juicy. Highly recommend (it has been said that if you liked the Hunger Games, you'll love Divergent. They are both dystopian, and have a badass female narrator.) I've been feeling pretty blah lately. Like I've forgotten to live with conviction. All I want to do is go somewhere. And I was looking at photos from a friend's travels and realized I didn't really believe the horizon and the features in the landscape. I wanted to see what the sand looked like. I wanted to look at the ground, lay on it and look up. I wanted to touch it and smell it. Get it on my clothes. Photographs are really for the person who took them, because when other people look at it is doesn't mean anything to them. So since I wrote last time, I've finished Self (it was amazing) and The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (Thanks for the recommendation, Kathleen! It was really interesting. Not sure if I understood all it had to offer, but it was really good). Now I'm reading The Book Thief. Anyone read it?
